What is the Muslim Society?
The Muslim society is the only society organized by the University of Reading to help provide for the welfare and needs of students with a deep interest in Islam and Islamic values. The majority of the members are students, who attive in Reading having experienced or practiced Islam within their own homes. Nevertheless, we have an increasing amount of student from across the board that attends our talks, showing a deep interest in the many subjects we present and speak about. We also have a steady stream of people who are simply curious about Islam and want to find our more.
In effect, everyone can find a place to learn more in the society. Whatever background they have, if you wish to know more about Islam, it is our obligation to allow you that, by providing for you and encouraging you to attend.
Aims of the Muslim Society
We aim to help the Muslims studying in the University by way of coordinating our efforts towards helping each other during times of ease and struggle.
The society is run by the students for the students and as such, we actively encourage participation. Throughout the year, the Muslim society will present various events, open to all members of the University.
